BOWIE TRIBUTE AT LONDON OLYMPICS CLOSING CEREMONY
"We are the goon squad and we're coming to town..."
Fans of David Bowie were made to feel very proud tonight with another tribute to DB at the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics.
The Bowie section started with a musical montage which included snippets of the following songs: Space Oddity, Changes, Ziggy Stardust, The Jean Genie, Rebel Rebel, Diamond Dogs, Young Americans and Let's Dance.
As the music played a visual representation of sound waves darted around the stadium on thousands of pixel screens, before floating up to reveal a collection of Bowie images as illustrated in the montage below.
The homage to Bowie culminated in the song Fashion as huge billboard images of various British supermodels were driven around the stadium accompanied by 'The Goon Squad' .
As the drapes were removed from the billboards, Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell (among others), wearing Alexander McQueen, paraded along gigantic catwalks forming the Union Jack.
